Here are 4 things to know about me...
1. I'm organized
2. I like to be in control
3. I'm a planner
4. I've never seen It's a Wonderful Life (go ahead, gasp in horror if you must)


You may wonder how all of these things are related.  I'll try to put it all together without rambling too much.


First things first...It's Christmas time and that makes me miss my mom.  This was her time of year!  It's been nearly 5 years & it's hard to not get a little sad around this time of the year.  I'm pretty sure It's a Wonderful Life was her favorite Christmas movie. Here's the thing, though...I can't ask her.  Like many other things I wish I could call up & ask her, I can't verify that this is her favorite movie.  I'm not writing this to make you sad for me (although I am a little teary writing this).  I'm telling you this so that you will love the ones in your life NOW.   
Last Sunday, our pastor gave his message based on the movie It's a Wonderful Life. Here's what it boiled down to...the title is how we should live.  IT IS a wonderful life.   Not, it was or it will be a wonderful life...IT IS right now a Wonderful Life.  
So as much as I want to call my mom or wish I could sit down & watch It's a Wonderful Life with her, I can't.  I can't help her put up her 600+ Santas like she did every year.  What I can do is LOVE my life now!!  


Remember the other 3 things I listed at first?  
As much as I love to organize & plan things, I have to remind myself (alot) that I am not in control!  I can plan, I just have to remember it doesn't always turn out the way I imagined.


So I will do my best to live & love MY Wonderful Life, everyday.  I can't change the past, I can't control the future, but I can live today to the best of my abilities.  It's the best way I can love my family & honor the memory of my mom.  (She sure wouldn't want us to be sad this time of year!!)
