Day 6--Kid Crafts

Happy President's Day!

A few days ago I asked the kids what they wanted to do on their day off.  They both said, Lazy PJ Day!!  This idea turned out to be a great one, considering today I feel cruddy.

So we had a lazy, pajama day--with some kid's crafts thrown in.  Here's what we did...

First, paper plate frisbees.  I pinned the idea on this blog. It has a ton of paper plate craft ideas.  Unfortunately, the link for the frisbees goes no where.  But they aren't hard.

Two paper plates. Draw a circle in the middle & cut out.
(Each frisbee takes 2 plates.)

Let your kids color the bottom of the plates.

Put a small bead of glue around the edge of one plate, put the other plate on top.  I stapled the edges 3 times just to hold it all together while the glue dried.  You will end up with something that resembles a UFO.
Here are the kiddos with their finished frisbees.

Up next, paper plate T-Rex.  The tutorial can be found here. It's a great tutorial, so no need for me to recreate it!

Here are the kiddos with their finished dinosaurs.

I've wanted to try this 3-D hand project for awhile.
Find the idea here.

Landon's did not turn out at all.  I think we made the lines too close together on his.  This is Savannah's.  A little better...can you see her hand??

Last we made Paper Rockets. Idea found here. Once again, tutorial is pretty straight forward, so no need for me to recreate it here.

Here are the crazy kiddos posing with their rockets.
Easy to make, fun and they actually fly a good distance!

Savannah with all of her crafts.

So despite not feeling 100% today, we had a fun, lazy, pajama day making crafts.  I would recommend all of them!!
(And it kept the sibling bickering to a minimum today!)
